Hon Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah , Member of Parliament for Takoradi and Western Regional Minister, attended the launching of Ghana India Trade Advisory Chamber at the Best Western Atlantic Hotel, Takoradi.

The launched “Advisory Chamber” which is symbolic and historic in the Western Region seeks to advance the course of trade and to create “interlinkage between research and policy making in the field of trade and investment”.

Additionally, to “promote and enhance trade, investment and cultural interactions between Ghana and India”.

Western Region being a major natural resource destination and also contribute substantially to Ghana’s primary commodity export served it right to be the forum for the launching of the Advisory Chamber.

“As strategic as it is and significantly a milestone to deepen and realise the trade potentials of our countries gives me joy. I underscored the fact that we needed such a unique arrangement to help both parties to reap the benefits in our trade.”Hon Okyere Darko Mensah stated.

Speakers at the launching were Hon. Alan John Kyerematen, Minister for Trade and Industry, H.E. Sugandh Rajaram, Indian High Commissioner to Ghana, Mr. Yofi Grant, C.E.O. GIPC, Hon. Carlos Ahenkorah, MP for Tema West, Mr. Dominic Oduro Antwi, President, GITAC and Hon. Abraham Dwuma Odoom, MP for Twifo Atti Morkwa.
