The Anglican Bishop of Asante-Mampong, Most Rev Dr Cyril Kobina Ben-Smith has admonished President Nana Akufo-Addo to continue leaning on God as he endeavors to find lasting solutions to the many challenges bedeviling the country.
Speaking at a special Anglican Church birthday service for President Akufo-Addo, at the Jubilee House Monday 3 April 2023, Most Rev Dr. Cyril Kobina Ben-Smith quoting from Psalm 103:1 and 2 which says; “Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. [2] Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits”, called on the President to agree with the writer of the Psalm, (King David), who refers to God as Lord (which is translated as Adonia) acknowledging that all his life depends on the very giver of life, who is the Lord.
“Your excellency, let us continue to look up to Him, let us continue to lean on Adonia, let us continue to listen to Him and He is with us,” Most Rev Dr. Ben-Smith said.
“He is the Lord of life. He is the only one, none other. He is the only one, He has no competition, He has no competitor, He is the only one. Let us continue to be obedient and to offer ourselves wholly and unconditionally for direction and favor,” the Anglican Archbishop further stated in his sermon.
President Akufo-Addo attained the age of 79 on Saturday 29 March 2023. However, the President was out of the jurisdiction in New York, attending a meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) at the UN headquarters.
Present at the service were the First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, and Chief of Staff at the Office of the President Madam Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, among others.
