We’re coming for you – Deputy Minister warns gov’t land encroachers

Deputy Minister for Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah has served notice that the government will soon deal with encroachers of state-acquired lands.

He observes that the phenomenon is worrying and the earlier the government takes steps to reclaim those lands, the better for the country.

The Deputy Minister served the warning during an official working visit to the Western Region.

“We can’t allow that and those guilty of this must be prepared to face it” he warned wondering why Assemblies in whose Jurisdiction these illegal acts are being perpetrated sit aloof for this to continue.

The Deputy Minister later inspected the work of Decentralized agencies like Parks and Gardens and Community Development under the Ministry and uncovered serious land encroachment by people for private development, a situation that has seriously affected the operations of these government institutions, especially in Axim, Tarkwa and Effia Kwesimintim.
